Original Prints in Multiples

Francoise Frigola's original artwork is contained in a "digital matrix", a digital file that can only be viewed and processed through a computer.  From this digital matrix, Francoise Frigola has currently chosen to create prints.

These prints are made using the latest inkjet technology.  Inkjet prints are sometimes referred to as "giclee."  The word "giclee" is derived from a French word, which means a squirt, a spray, etc. It has become a generic term for all the computer printing techniques when the ink is applied on paper in minuscule squirted droplets.

The inkjet/giclee technique currently offers the best tonal continuity, color gamut, and level of detail.

Francoise Frigola sells two types of giclee prints:

§       Prints up to 17" wide are digitally printed in Francoise Frigola's studio on an Epson Stylus Color 3000 with Lysonic inks on Somerset Velvet watercolor paper. Life expectancy before noticeable fading occurs rated at 25 years under normal art display conditions by Wilhelm Imaging Research, Inc.

§       Larger prints are sent to specialized art printers who use an IRIS printer with the latest Lysonic Fine Arts Inks on Somerset Velvet watercolor paper. Life expectancy before noticeable fading occurs rated at 65 to 75 years under normal art display conditions by Wilhelm Imaging Research, Inc.

Following the long printing tradition, to guaranty the value of the final artwork, only a limited number of prints will be produced.  At this time, as required by law, the original digital files and their back-ups are destroyed or altered in such a way as to prevent any additional identical prints to be created.
